Drawn at a young age to conceptual design and problem solving, my sketchbooks and early projects reflected an industrial design sensibility that extended into fantasy environments and transportation with a futuristic mindset. Exposure to manufacturing during this time helped fuel an interest in machinery, an interest in varied forms of fabrication, and a curiosity towards materials. This, coupled with a love of nature on both a macro and micro scale, archeology, architecture, systems and mobility, helped form my base of interest. These interests were fed in later years by attending classes at the Art Institute of Chicago, Rhode Island School of Design, and later, Art Center College of Design in Pasadena where I received a Bachelor of Science with distinction in automotive design, with a focus on entertainment design. Internships included advanced concept product designs for Coca-Cola, and automotive products for BMW/ Designworks. My career began by providing design services, illustrations, storyboards, character and concept development to post and pre-production studios such as, New Line Cinema, Disney, Fox, Rhythm and Hues as well as industrial design work for BMW/Designworks, Intel, Toyota, and Honda. From there I dove into the feature film industry as a conceptual illustrator for: “Minority Report”, “Constantine”,“X-men 2”, “Superman”, “Iron Man 2", "Thor", "Bunraku", “The Terminal”, ”Fantastic Voyage", “Avitar”, "Battle Angel Alita”, along with numerous film proposals and commercials. These experiences lead me to develop training DVDs on digital painting, co-authoring “Concept Design 1-2”, and to teach seminars around the world on design methodologies along with classes in visual communication, production and entertainment design at Art Center College of Design and Gnomon along with facilitating design solutions based workshops. One of my largest projects was towards the design of “The High Roller”; the world’s largest wheel for Harrah’s casino, Las Vegas. Concurrently, I have enjoyed designing and managing the remodeling of modern and period homes, industrial and manufacturing facilities. I’ve also gained experience and joy being involved with the arts and festival community, contributing poster art, interactive installations and spaces. 2012 marked the beginning of my venture in building a design studio in Santa Barbara, California intending to develop thoughtful products of exceptional quality. Through that pursuit I uncovered the desire for a deeper understanding around the material impacts our products have on our world. From this profound realization and passion to explore that understanding, I later founded Eqogo, “the Worlds First Transparency Engine”, a robust rating system and platform that evaluates products for their social, environmental and quality implications - defining goods for what’s best and encouraging the race to better. My desire is to live artfully, contribute relentlessly, expand constantly and enhance the human experience through tools of impact and visions of spaces and experiences not yet known, all while laughing often.
