For nearly a decade, I worked in management consulting, leading teams of designers, strategists, researchers, and project managers through multiple complex high-stakes client projects for Fortune 50 companies and top global brands. I believe everyone’s voice and input is critical, and it’s important for the leader to hold to a project’s vision and be accountable for its quality and success. I believe in creativity, efficiency, and performance.
Fairly important, but not absolutely critical. Audiences can change over time, it is important that the brand is able to endure these changes and stay tied to the company's broader purpose.
I was a professional journalist for nearly a decade and also have two published books—a How To book and a cookbook—with major publishers (Penguin Random House, Chronicle Books. My initial "training" was as an intern at Wired Magazine.
Always make sure the work feels authentic, expansive, and unique. Proofread everything, writing and design. Think through all possibilities.
